Recovery Home Clinical Counsellor

  • Role involves spearheading the development and execution of service plans tailored to individual adult residents in our Recovery Home
  • These services cater to individuals who are in early-stage healing from trauma and substance use/misuse but are considered stable physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually and require minimal supervision.
  • As a Clinical Counsellor, you will collaborate closely with the Recovery Home team, working towards the empowerment of residents, ultimately driving positive outcomes, and increasing capacity to return to community and maintain holistic wellbeing.

Expectations/Potential Duties:

  • Collaborate in the development of care plan alongside the Recovery Home resident.
  • Lead the formulation of plans for participant with the intention to transition back to community safely, collaborating with the Life Skills Worker, Resident Nurse, Cultural Lead, Resident psychologist, and community professionals/resources as needed.
  • Engage with primary supports and community service providers to facilitate transition planning.
  • Provide direct clinical services, including intake, assessment, treatment, crisis intervention, and consultation and supporting residents to connect with community agencies as needed.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessment and treatment planning, delivering individual and group programming.
  • Maintain awareness and knowledge of medications as prescribed by physicians.
  • Provide direct clinical consultation to other members of Recovery House team.
  • Maintain required clinical/client/administrative records in accordance with CARF and Round Lake Alcohol and Drug Treatment Society’s Policies and Procedures.
  • Demonstrate a background and knowledge of First Nations peoples customs, culture, and impact of trauma issues, and cultural oppression.

Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in the field of counselling, mental health, or a related social service discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct clinical supervision experience in social services, mental health and/or addictions.
  • Registered, and in good standing, with appropriate professional college(s) or association(s) (e.g., BC Association of Clinical Counsellors).

Salary: $36.25 – $39.87 per hour
